About Us

College kids volunteering.Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.

Habitatd was founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. After spending three years building homes in Africa, the Fullers returned to the United States with a dream of building low cost housing all over the world. They met with supporters to share their vision and Habitat for Humanity International was born. Since that time,Habitat has built and rehabilitated more than 200,000 homes around the world.
