Past Projects

Build Twelve

Construction on our twelve house began in September, 2007 by the construction trades class at Wind River High School. Two classes of students, working under the supervision of teacher Kiley Chatfield, framed the house in two halves. Rushmore Homes of Riverton moved the house to the site just a mile from the high school in January, 2008. The homeowner and community volunteers worked on finishing the home, which was completed in the summer of 2008. Property for this home was donated by a local resident. This partnership between businesses, schools and private citizens is what makes Habitat work! A huge THANK YOU goes out to Wind River High School, Rushmore Homes and our property donor.

Build Eleven

Construction of the Encana/Riverton Centennial House at 904 Cliff Avenue was completed in March 2007. This project was a wonderful example of what great things can be accomplished when government, business, education and private citizens work cooperatively together.

100_1225Our homesite was donated to Habitat by the City of Riverton. The construction costs were covered by generous grants from Encana, Wells Fargo and Pacific Power. The actual building was done by the construction trades classes at Central Wyoming College, Riverton High School and the Native American Vocational Technical Education Program (NAVTEP) at St. Stephens. In addition many groups of volunteers worked on weekends, including Riverton Soroptimists, and employees from Encana, Wells Fargo, and the Riverton Crisis Center.
